Planning ensures that the long-range land use planning for the Township follows the defined goals of the community through review of all development activity. They are also responsible for maintaining the Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map. Planning also provides professional administrative staff to the Planning Commission with duties including preparation of agendas, public notification and processing of all rezoning and special use requests.
Planning is located at the Holland Charter Township Offices (353 North 120th Avenue).
The following are the most common requests to the Planning Commission:
Planned Unit Development (PUD) - A request for generally larger developments that wish to some flexibility from the Zoning Provisions to achieve higher densities, more green space, or unique road configurations.

Rezoning - A request to change a property from one zoning district to another zoning district.
