Hawthorn Pond Natural Area

hawthorne park ribbon cutting 1

This 40-acre park is located south of Adams Street at 9876 Black River Court. It offers walking trails around the 5-acre Hawthorn Pond with a kayak launch ramp, fishing deck, boardwalk and  lookout stations at various locations around the pond as well as on the Macatawa River. Hawthorn Pond Natural Area developed in 2011 is jointly owned by Holland Charter Township and Ottawa County.

The park is open year round for fishing. In recent years, the Township has planted fish to help with the fish population.

All Holland Township parks are open from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. and are under 24-hour camera surveillance. All park gazebos are on a first come, first serve basis and may not be reserved.

Even though the parks are open to the public, the Township does rent out various facilities as well as host Township-sponsored events throughout the year that take precedence. If you are looking to utilize a Holland Township park facility other than for general use, please contact Darrin Duistermars at (616) 395-0178 for more information and availability.
