The Building Department staff is responsible for reviewing plans and issuing various permits related to building construction, plumbing, electrical and mechanical work, as well as performing related inspections and maintaining inspection records of the adopted Michigan Building Code and Michigan Residential Code.

Inspections are required by the Michigan Building and Residential Codes.
