Spring Leaf Disposal

2011 Spring Leaf Disposal

Effective March 28, 1995, Michigan's Solid Waste Management Act (Act 641 of 1978, as amended) prohibited the open burning of leaves and grass clippings.

Holland and Park Townships are providing their citizens with an opportunity for leaf disposal.  Those wishing to use this service may bring leaves to one of three locations:  Holland Township's Dunton Park, located on Howard Avenue; the Ottawa County Fairgrounds or the Maatman Community Center, both located in Park Township.  Drop off may be made between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the dates and at the locations listed below.   If leaves are brought to the drop-off site in plastic bags, citizens are requested to empty the leaves out of the bags into the disposal bins.  Plastic bags cannot be composted.  NO BRANCHES, BRUSH OR GRASS CLIPPINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
