HOLLAND CHARTER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Regular Meeting
April 6, 2017

The Supervisor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Present: Supervisor Terry Nienhuis, Clerk Michael Dalman, and Trustees Norm Nykamp and Russell TeSlaa.  Also present was Township Manager Don Komejan.

Absent: Treasurer Vince Bush and Trustees Doug Becker and Elliott Church

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Mr. Nienhuis gave the invocation. 

Citizen’s Comments: Al Dannenberg, County Commissioner, was present to answer questions about Ottawa County.  He reported on a recent meeting with legislators in Lansing.

Mr. Nienhuis opened a public hearing to consider a Michigan Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding for GNS America expansion project and a Resolution to authorize submittal of a CDBG Application to the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).  Mr. Ken Rizzio, Director of Business Services for Lakeshore Advantage, and Jack Cadell from GNS were present to describe the project.  Mr. Nienhuis closed the public hearing.

17-32 Mr. Nykamp offered a resolution, supported by Mr. TeSlaa, to approve the submittal to the MEDC of a Community Development Application under the 2017 CDBG Program by Holland Charter Township.

Roll call vote: Yes-4, No-0, Absent-3
Resolution declared adopted

17-33 A motion was made by Mr. TeSlaa, supported by Mr. Nykamp, to approve the consent agenda including communications, operational reports (Monthly Building Report for March 2017 and Summary of Cemetery Lot Sales), bills and financial transactions for the month of March, and the minutes of March 16, 2017 as written.

All supported the motion
Motion declared adopted

Mr. Nykamp introduced and the Board held a first reading on one rezoning request – 0 Ransom Street (Vacant) Parcel No. 70-16-04-400-028 from Agricultural (A) to Light Industrial (I-1).

Mr. Komejan reviewed several additional informational updates.  Russ TeSlaa shared an update on the long range planning meeting for MAX Transit.  The meeting adjourned at 7:27 P.M.
