HOLLAND CHARTER TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION

Special Meeting

August 15, 2017

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Marion Hoeve at 5:30 p.m.

Present:   Chairman Marion Hoeve, Vice-Chairman/Secretary Jack Vander Meulen, Members LaVerne Johnson, Ken Bosma, Dennis Gebben, and Norm Nykamp.  Also present were Assistant Planner and Zoning Administrator Corey Broersma, and Planning Consultant David Jirousek.
Absent: Ed Zylstra

Mr. Hoeve invited Mr. Jirousek to continue the review of the provided Zoning Ordinance Update Project Review Draft dated August 3, 2017 consisting of:

Commissioners and Staff discussed various topics related to Articles 9 – 12 and the results of the August 8, 2017 Chicken Regulation Worksheet. 

Mr. Jirousek provided Commissioners with a Beekeeping Regulation Worksheet for review and discussion at the next special meeting.

Mr. Hoeve recognized a member of the public (Mr. Fitzgerald) and heard his comments in regards to the keeping of bees, in particular nucleus colonies, for future consideration.

Commissioners directed Mr. Jirousek to continue revising the ordinance for the next special meeting.  It was suggested the next meeting begin with Article 10.3 – Required Off-street Parking and Stacking.

Next Special Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 5:30 PM. 

The meeting adjourned at 7:40 PM
